John Buzzard, FICO
John Buzzard serves as Client Relations Manager for FICO’s Card Alert Service (CAS), which provides major payment processing networks with a fraud monitoring service devoted to predicting, identifying and reducing counterfeit card skimming. Prior to his current position, Buzzard spent 10 years as a fraud investigator for the company.

Buzzard hosts the popular monthly webinar Combating Fraud through Peer Communication, which attracts hundreds of attendees and highlights the latest fraud trends affecting financial institutions from coast to coast. He is also the author of FICO’s Alert Bulletin publication and the creator of the Fraud Alert Network website, where more than 6,000 bankers and credit union professionals log in each day to learn about the latest fraud scams affecting the industry.

Michael Carter, CUCE, Credit Union Association of New York
Michael Carter, CUCE, serves as Director of Compliance for the Credit Union Association of New York. Under his leadership, the Association’s Compliance Department provides credit unions with information and guidance regarding the laws and regulations that affect their daily operations.

Carter also leads the Association’s Frontline Compliance Certification Program and Compliance Updates, as well as compliance training for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors and other state credit union leagues. His career includes more than 17 years of experience in the financial industry.

Jason Gallic, Generational Speaker/Consultant
Jason Gallic began studying issues of generational disconnect years ago as a way to complement strategic planning and team building sessions being offered by Eugene, OR-based consulting firm Extreme Arts & Sciences. From that springboard, Gallic created a series of participant-centered learning experiences customized to simultaneously engage and instruct.

Today, Gallic advises marketing, operations and human resource personnel on how to manage and excel within the realities of cross-generational corporate space. He also works as a Product Marketing Manager for Palo Alto Software in Eugene, where he blends generational and cultural savvy with technical know-how and market awareness to help create products that boost businesses worldwide.

Robert Goot, FIS
Robert Goot is a certified Project Management Professional and serves as Senior Product Director in FIS’ Credit Products organization. He is responsible for overseeing the organization’s Commercial Credit Card product line, Receivables Management Services and Canadian credit market opportunities. With more than 20 years of experience in the electronic payments industry, Goot offers extensive insight into the issuer card processing space, project management and fraud/commercial card product development arenas.

Prior to joining Equifax (then Certegy and now FIS) in 1996, Goot was employed by First Data Resources and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Steve Hill, Visa, Inc.
Steve Hill serves as Senior Business Leader, Commercial Sales for Visa Inc. In this role, he leads Visa’s Specialized Sales team for North American Small Business Credit and Debit products, working with a wide range of financial institutions to grow and expand their Small Business card programs.

Since joining Visa in 1998, Hill has performed many functions, including managing the commercial payments division of one of Visa’s largest financial institution clients and managing merchant client strategies and partnership sales within Visa Acceptance. Prior to joining Visa, Hill worked for First Data Corporation and Dean Witter’s Credit Services Group.

Michael Marx, Visa, Inc. Research Services
Michael Marx serves as Senior Business Leader of Visa Inc. Research Services. In this role, he consults and communicates with Visa payment card-issuing clients and accepting merchants on all aspects of intelligence, including market research, market intelligence, competitive intelligence and relevant consumer trends.

Prior to joining Visa in 1996, Marx served for 11 years as manager of the corporate market research function at Wells Fargo. He has also held research positions at Clorox and Market Facts.

Casey Merolla, First Annapolis
Casey Merolla is a Senior Consultant at First Annapolis, concentrating on the firm’s payment strategy and deposit access practice. Her primary areas of focus include debit card issuing, payments strategy, strategic sourcing and mergers and acquisitions. Merolla frequently speaks on debit issuing and payment strategies for credit union-focused group service providers.

Corinne Sherman, Pennsylvania Credit Union Association
Corinne Sherman is the Vice President of Fee Services for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association. In this role, she helps credit unions pursue the latest technology and become full-service financial institutions for their members.

Sherman has been employed at the Association since 1986 and previously served as Vice President of Card Services and Supervisor of Credit Union Services and Chargeback/draft Retrieval for Card Services. She also served on the Card Services for Credit Unions (CSCU) national advisory committee.
