News Release Covera Addresses Risk of Card Fraud With New Position (May 29 - Latham, NY) – Covera Card Solutions, a provider of ATM, debit and credit card processing services, has recognized the rising threat of plastic card fraud by developing a comprehensive risk management program. To best serve their credit unions’ needs in perpetrating fraud, Covera has implemented a fraud analyst position. Covera’s fraud analyst will serve as an industry expert, someone that client credit unions can count on to provide one-on-one service for any and all fraud related issues, and how to best combat them. Continuing education and promotion of fraud related resources and tools will also be provided by the fraud analyst to member credit unions. Additionally, the fraud analyst will act as a liaison with Covera’s ATM, debit and credit card program processors as well as CUNA Mutual Group. Covera understands that when fraud management tools are used strategically, credit unions can effectively minimize losses and protect cardholders. Covera has hired Byren Bellen as their new fraud analyst. Bellen was previously manager of a JP Morgan Chase branch in Columbus, OH. He graduated from the State University of New York in Oneonta, majoring in business economics with a minor in finance.
